About Us - Malaika Oasis Safari

Hi there! Who are we?

We are Anna and Joseph, the founders of Malaika Oasis Safari. We are two friends and business partners, a Czech and a Tanzanian, who are ready to take you to the best African safari!

What does Malaika mean?

In Swahili, malaika means an angel. We chose this name because of the angelic feeling we get when we watch the wild animals and nature here! Anna's grandma also used to call her ''andilek'', which means a little angel in Czech language.

Oasis - a hidden, lush haven in life's desert. Exactly what the magic of safari is! Thus, we selected a name that matters to us.

In 2024, we decided to put or life and business experiences to fruition and start our own travel company. As a foreign and a local citizen, we understand both sides, and we believe we bring the best guidance to your travels. We are equipped with several languages, including English, Czech, Mandarin Chinese, German, French and Swahili.

We work only with hand-picked safari experts and Kilimanjaro climb guides that we personally know. It matters to us that you are comfortable and have a blast on your safari!

We know what you expect on your trip, and we understand perfectly where to take you and what to show you, in order to have the best memories of Tanzania, Uganda and East Africa!

MEET ANNA

Hi! I'm Anna

Founder, Head of Sales, Marketing, Communications and Travel Experience

Anna is a well-traveled global citizen who lived across 3 continents and 6 countries including China, Vietnam, the UK, the UAE and Tanzania. She was born in the Czech Republic, but her whole adult life, she resided abroad and visited over 50 countries.

For nearly a decade, she was a head of department in digital banking and fintech industry in Asia. She traveled extensively for work but also for pleasure. She built itineraries for travelers on one-by-one basis for Thailand, Vietnam, China and Indonesia. After years, she decided to turn her passion into a business idea. As a 90's kid, her biggest movie crush was always the Lion King - so, now you know why Tanzania!

MEET JOSEPH

Mambo, I'm Joseph

Co-founder, Head of Operations, Itineraries and Local Partnerships

Joseph is an experienced guide and a Tanzanian businessman in the tourism industry. Having lived in Dar es Salaam, Moshi and traveled extensively across Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar, he's your go-to-expert when it comes to any travels on land or at the sea across Tanzania!

Joseph has background in IT OPS and cyber-security, but also years in tourism industry. His heart always lied in communication with humans and exploring the nature. Thus, together, we started Malaika Oasis Safari!
