Itinerary:

Day 1: Pick up ⇾ Arusha National Park

  • 7:30–8:00 AM pickup from Arusha/Moshi accommodation.
  • Drive over to Arusha National Park Gate.
  • Arusha National Park packs savanna, rainforest, crater, and alpine peaks all into one small area.
  • You can spot giraffes on the plains while gazing up at Mount Meru’s snow-capped summit in the same frame.
  • A half-day game drive in Arusha National Park (Ngurdoto Crater, Momella Lakes).
  • Accommodation: Mid-range lodge in Arusha (luxury if requested, individual pricing).

Day 2: Arusha → Tarangire National Park, the Baobab Elephant heaven

  • Full day game drive in Tarangire National Park.
  • This is the incredible haven of some of the largest elephant herds in Africa (up to 300 individuals), living among infinite amounts of thousands of years old Baobab trees.
  • Picnic lunch in the park.
  • Overnight: Karatu town - between Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater gate.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater, the UNESCO Spectacle

  • Early morning drive to the famous Ngorongoro Crater Gate.
  • The crater is the only unbroken caldera in the whole world, which is also inhabited by life.
  • You'll find the highest concentration of wildlife on the planet in the crater! Including the black rhino.
  • Overnight: a mid-range lodge on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 4: Ngorongoro → Central Serengeti

  • Early morning drive to Serengeti (4-5 hours based on conditions) through Maasai lands.
  • Enjoy the first views of the world-renowned Serengeti.
  • Afternoon game drive.
  • Overnight: mid-range lodge in Central Serengeti.

Day 5: Full Day in Central Serengeti: Chase the ''Big Five''

  • Wake up extra early if you'd like to join a hot air balloon over the savannah during sunset (needs to be booked well in advance with us before you arrive to Tanzania), or a walking safari with a guide.
  • Track lions, buffaloes, elephants, cheetahs, leopards and any other wildlife.
  • Enjoy picnic lunch in the middle of your day.
  • Overnight: same lodge as the previous night.

Day 6: Central → Southern Serengeti (Ndutu / Kusini Plains)

  • Add optional hot air balloon ride - same possibility as the day before.
  • Enjoy morning game in Central Serengeti.
  • move southwards towards the afternoon.
  • Overnight: mid-range lodge in Ndutu area.

Day 7: Southern Serengeti - Your Top Chances to See a Day Time Kill

  • Wake up early to get the top chance for predator-kill drama in daylight.
  • Because prey density is high, the open plains give predators (especially cheetah and lions) more hunting chances, and many safari veterans claim the Ndutu region offers by far the best odds to witness daytime kills.
  • Enjoy driving through the area of birthplace of the Great Migration (although migration won't be observed as it only takes place Jul-Sept and a special package to track the herds is required).
  • Overnight: same lodge as the previous night.

Day 8: South → Central Serengeti

  • Morning game drive in South Serengeti. Drive back to Central Serengeti for afternoon game viewing.
  • Overnight: same as day 4 and 5.

Day 9: Central Serengeti → Return to Ngorongoro / Karatu

  • This will be your last morning game drive in Central Serengeti.
  • Drive over to Ngorongoro rim or Karatu (4-5 hours based on conditions).
  • Overnight: Ngorongoro rim or Karatu town.

Day 10: Lake Manyara and its famous Tree Climbing Lions → Maasai Cultural Visit → Return to Arusha or Moshi

  • This is the most ''different looking'' park of all - especially because it's mostly made of a lake.
  • Enjoy watching the very rare tree-climbing lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and troops of baboons against the backdrop of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.
  • Spot hippos and flamingos along the lake shore, and if lucky, glimpse the famous tree-climbing lions.
  • Visit a Maasai village en route back and understand their way of living - family structures, economy and their traditional dancing and singing.
  • Return to Arusha/Moshi and drop-off.

  • 10 days of action-packed safari game drives
  • Visit of all of Tanzania Northern Circuit National Parks
