If you’re short of time but want to taste feeling of climbing the Mt. Kilimanjaro, you better join us for a thrilling 1-day trek on Kilimanjaro’s Machame Route to Rombo Gate! This trek is perfect for a quick taste of the mountain’s lush rainforest. We’ll hike 12 km round-trip, soaking in vibrant greenery and Kibo views, then return to Moshi/Arusha.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Machame Gate to Rombo Gate and Back
- Morning pickup in Moshi/Arusha, drive to Machame Gate (1,800m, ∼1 hr). Register with Kilimanjaro National Park, meet our crew (guide, porters), and hike through rainforest to Rombo Gate area (2,650m, near Mti Mkubwa). Enjoy lunch and views, then descend back to Machame Gate and drive to Moshi/Arusha. Possible to hike all the way to Simba Camp.
- Distance: 12km (6km up, 6km down). Time: 5–7 hrs total.
- Elevation: 1,800m to ∼2,650m and back.
- Sleep: Chanya Lodge, Moshi.
- Food: Packed lunch. Tip: Bring rain gear and binoculars for wildlife.
